Art that centers on the beauty...

of the human figure in a simple pose. It is an ideal starting point for the beginning sculptor but is in depth enough that allows those with previous sculpting experience to gain and practice new skills and techniques.

The course is more then a step by step tutorial. It provides the student with a firm foundation to build their own sculptures. This is because the course is structured using the classical methods of art education.

As you progress through the course you learn how to formulate and plan a composition which is carried through to the completion of the piece. In this process, you learn how to proportion accurately for a lifelike result in your clay.

Each lesson builds on the techniques that came before, thus making it a logical process to follow and one that is easily translated to other subjects.

You will learn to sculpt the some of the skeletal and muscular systems while learning the anatomical terms associated with each part as you build your figure up to completion.

This course takes about 6 weeks to complete a figure.

Sculpting the Female Figure differs from other online sculpting courses because of it's complete structure by pulling in elements of drawing, master works, proportion and anatomy and classical sculpting techniques you get a well rounded education with practical and attainable skills within a short time of just 6 weeks.

This course has sold for $3500 but today you get that same course for just $212 for the full 6 weeks plus weekly live instruction! YEP! That's getting online with Deanna every week for 6 weeks to get personalized instruction as you work through the pre-recorded videos at home. Deanna has had 100% success and satisfaction from her students in this course.

Try the course out and if you are dissatisfied we guarantee 100% return within 7 days of registration. You do have to watch the videos and give it a try though!

Because this is a weekly live class we've limited the number of students who can register to just 10. So make sure you don't wait to sign up! Class fills up fast!

Introduction

In this video Deanna explains what you can expect to learn in this class about sculpting the female figure and the layout of the lessons. This class consists of 12 lessons on sculpting in oil based clay over a truform armature.

Preparing to Sculpt The Female Figure:  Lesson 1

In this lesson Deanna talks about the materials you will need to be successful in this class. Includes a list of materials: Download

A Lesson About Master Sculptors: Lesson 2

In this lesson Deanna talks about what we can learn from master sculptors and how that helps form good composition. In this lesson she talks about the compositions and details of both Michelangelo’s sculpture of David and Bernini’s sculpture of Pluto and Proserpina.

Sculpting Using Relative Proportions: Lesson 3

In this lesson Deanna talks about relative proportions and how you can use a basic scheme to plan your three dimensional sculpture. She uses an anatomical poster of the human skeleton to systematically find relative proportions within the human body then demonstrates how to draw a proportionally accurate skeletal figure.

How To Build Your Own Armature: Lesson 4

In this lesson Deanna demonstrates how to build your own wire armature. Using the information taught in lesson 3 about relative proportions, Deanna now demonstrates how to build your own armature out of aluminum wire.

Forming Sculpture Composition: Lesson 5

In this lesson Deanna demonstrates how to form the composition in the armature before laying on the clay. Remembering what we learned in lesson 2 from the sculptures of Michelangelo and Bernini Deanna now shows us how to pull those compositional elements into our own sculpture.

Sculpting The Human Skeleton: Lesson 6 (1 of 3)

This video is part 1 of 3. In this lesson Deanna demonstrates how to sculpt the human skeleton over a truform armature. Now that we have prepared our armature, planned out our composition and measured relative proportions Deanna shows us how to give our sculpture a skeleton beginning with the larger bones and working our way to the smaller bones.

Sculpting The Human Skeleton: Lesson 6 (2 of 3)

This video is part 2 of 3.
